Chalk Paint

I have a new love..... Chalk paint. Have you heard of Annie Sloan chalk paint? My friend Nicole introduced me to it.
I want to paint everything in my house with it. It can get a little pricey, but it is worth it. I have also tried out some alternatives that are awesome too.
The key is to have Annie Sloan's stain. It is incredible. Here is a link to her blog. http://anniesloanpaintandcolour.blogspot.co.uk/

I wanted to share some of my projects. Maybe you will get some inspiration!
Annie Sloan Old Ochre

The Lamp is Annie Sloan Old White and the table is Behr Ashwood.

The cool thing about the chalk paint is that you can paint anything.....no priming.....lamps, frames, candlesticks, cabinets, etc....

I repainted this desk last week. It was a dark brown. No priming! I used Annie Sloan Coco. I also took the handles off and spray painted them. I used Krylon gray primer, then Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze.

Annie Sloan Arles

          This is Behr Ashwood 720D-4{Annie Sloan French Linen}

This is Behr Outback {same as Annie Sloan Versailles}
This is Annie Sloan Coco with Dark Stain

January fun stuff

As much as I love putting up Christmas decorations, I really love taking it all down. It usually results in the rearranging of things. Cleansing. Then sometimes maddening. Every January I am stumped as to what to put on my doors. You are probably thinking, really? But, really - I love putting things on my door. It is fun, and it makes me happy. It's cold, colorless, and blah in January. This one, especially....I have been really thankful for the sunshine the past few days. Here's what I came up this January.
Grapevine wreath. When in doubt, put up a wreath. $3.99 at Hobby Lobby. Burlap ribbon, and fabric rosettes http://askannamoseley.com/2012/08/how-to-make-fabric-rosettes/

Fabric rosettes
Inital and fabric bunting
I used fabric scraps, yarn, and bakers twine

I love burlap ribbon. You can buy it at Hobby Lobby or JoAnns. I bought mine from Etsy.

A few paintings from Christmas

I am still here! Here are a few of the paintings I did around Christmas. Somehow, I didn't get a picture of everything. Thank you, sweet friends for all of your Christmas Card orders, teacher orders, and canvas orders. You have blessed me and my family tremendously....
